Hard Rock Park Update

The Hard Rock Park in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, began accepting applications in mid-March to begin filling between 750 and 1000 jobs. This is very welcome news considering the recent rise in unemployment. Over 1,000 applications have been received already and interviews are underway.

In other news, officials with the Hard Rock Park said negotiations were underway and a positive resolution anticipated for retaining the Hard Rock brand and name. Representatives of the company that purchased the $400 million theme park are confident that their marketing plan will yield successful results.

With the intent of opening by Memorial Day holiday, the park is a beehive of activity getting everything ready for the summer season. The new owners have reached out to Myrtle Beach area businesses for promotional assistance and are working hard to create credibility with the local population.

Plans include adding more children’s rides to increase the park’s appeal to families. Reducing ticket prices to between $35 and $40 has been regarded as a welcome step toward encouraging more family attendance.
