Beach Fun for September 10th – 30th

It sure feels like fall at the beach… very, very pleasant with days in the low 80s and nights around 70. The beach is much less crowded but there are still lots of fun things happening. Staff selections for the coming days include lots of fun events for the whole family. S.O.S. Fall Migration – Sept 11th – 20th… There will be great music, dancing in the street, & fun to be had by all. We will also have merchandise vendors, food and drink vendors, & displays set up by the SOS sponsors. If you are ready for a little adventure, maybe it is time for you to schedule a trip to the wilds of North Myrtle Beach. Maybe it is time for you to join the party at the SOS Fall Migration.

The Believers in Concert at the historic Myrtle Beach Train Depot – These regularly scheduled South by Southeast concerts feature “the best music you never heard” in a tres cool, intimate setting where up to 150 adult music lovers can enjoy a memorable evening out. Admission to these “Music Feasts” includes a pot-luck covered dish dinner buffet, excellent ale from New South Brewery, and entertainment.

Pawley’s Island Festival of Music & Art – September 18th – 27th… Celebrating its 19th season and looking forward to another beautiful music-filled autumn at Brookgreen Gardens. Headlining on the 19th will be Steve Tyrell, Grammy-winner and purveyor of pop standards from Bacharach to Bond. On the 20th, Jazz under the Oaks will feature blues & jazz singer Ann Caldwell and jazz pianist Enrique Haneine. Long Bay Symphony and Dallas Brass perform on the 25th and 26th respectively.

Sounds of Summer at McLean Park – FREE concert September 18th with the Craig Woolard Band, so bring a beach chair, blanket, picnic, non-alcoholic beverages and relax and play. Food and beverages will also be provided for purchase at the park. The park is located just south of Main Street at the corner of Oak Drive and 2nd Avenue South. Concerts are from 7 to 9PM and are FREE Family-Friendly Events.

Just gimme some old time Rock & Roll... QROCK Radio's BIG ROCK102 Reunion Party featuring a concert by Nantucket will be Friday, September 25, in Broadway at the Beach's Celebrity Square. All the hot DJ's from the "Q" will be there spinning some great tunes and giving away some dynamite prizes. Advance tickets for great seats and raffle tickets for an electric guitar and other fantastic prizes will be available from QROCK and from partner, Star Music.

Little Shop of Horrors at the Palace Theatre at Broadway at the Beach. Come see this affectionate and hilarious spoof of the 1950s sci-fi film genre, one of the longest running Off-Broadway shows of all time. Enjoy the music and laughs with Audrey II - a plant like none you've ever seen before. Matinees and evening shows beginning September 25th..

FreeStyle Music Park – 1st Annual Freedom Festival September 12th & 13th with a parade, patriotic exhibits throughout the park, and some fantastic entertainment. 70s rocker Billy Joe Royal, several local bands and headliner LeAnn Rimes will be performing Saturday on the big stage. Tickets are good for both days – catch the festival & concerts and ride all the exciting roller coasters, carousels, swings and more.
