Broadway at the Beach kicks off their summer fun June 1 with the 18th Annual Corvettes at Myrtle Beach Car Show.  Fireworks shows will be Tuesday evenings all summer and on Fridays beginning June 21.

Other upcoming summer events include:

Sounds of Summer - Enjoy live music at North Myrtle Beach's McLean Park this summer.  Outdoor concerts are scheduled for Friday's - June 21st, July 19th, August 16th and September 20th.  These are FREE family-friendly events.

Movies at McLean: Bring your beach chair or blanket and spend a special Friday evening watching a movie beneath the stars.  These are FREE family-friendly events; movies are G or PG-rated and begin approximately 15 minutes after sunset.  Bring a picnic or purchase popcorn or soda from the North Strand Optimist Club.  The summer schedule includes movies June 14th (Wreck it Ralph), July 12th (Escape from Planet Earth) and August 9th (Here Comes the Boom).

June 22-23: The Art  in the Park Festival at Myrtle Beach's Chapin Park features dozens of local and regional artists and craftsmen from all walks of life displaying their work on the lawn behind Chapin Memorial Library.  The annual event is known for its wide range of wares, including paintings, decorative woodwork and carvings, and photography.  Food vendors are on-site and a large playground will provide parents a place to let the little ones burn off some energy while they shop for something special.

There are lots of fun, family-friendly things to do on the Grand Strand in June!  We look forward to seeing you soon!

May = FUN in North Myrtle Beach

Warm Days, Festivals, Fiestas and Fun...

Spring is well under way here at The Beach and May is shaping up to be a wonderful month for family trips, weekend getaways, and excellent deals on Myrtle Beach golf packages.
May's first weekend is a grand one with the 27th Annual Rivertown Music & Arts Festival in historic downtown Conway on May 4th. Festivities include the Chicora Classic Car show, the Farmers' Market, and performances by lots of young local talent - dancing, singing and more! The evening is topped off with a street concert featuring The Steady Hand String Band, The River Whyless (formerly Do It To Julia), and stellar mandolin-player Jenni Lyn Gardner & Friends. The festival is from 11 am to 9 pm and, as always, is a FREE family-friendly event.  Click for details and schedule.
Other music events this weekend include an encore appearance by the popular Oak Ridge Boys on stage at Barefoot Landing's Alabama Theatre. For the younger set, Band of Horses will be center stage in the Concert Hall at the House of Blues in North Myrtle Beach.

If your tastes run more toward theatre and stage, you're in luck. The spring run of The Color Purple will end this weekend with two performances Saturday (May 4th) and a matinee Sunday (May 5th) at the Theatre of the Republic in old town Conway. Click for details.
Take a nostalgic trip down memory lane and celebrate the many popular hit songs of the Four Season with HOT JERSEY NIGHTS at the Palace Theatre. This first-class show is on the showcard for the full month of May. See details online.
Don't forget... this weekend brings Cinco de Mayo, too! There will be celebrations, parties and fun with special events at many of the local clubs and restaurants, including Senor Frogs and Fiesta del Burro Loco.

The weekend of May 11th marks the return of MayFest on Main. The 8th annual festival on North Myrtle Beach's Main Street will feature arts & crafts, a community stage with lots of young local talent, a fun kids' zone and plenty of tasty festival treats. There will be music throughout the day with concerts on the main stage by John Waite and by the Little River Band. The festival runs from 10 am to 6 pm and is a FREE family-friendly event.
PLAY BALL! Our local "Boys of Summer", the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, are the Class A team for the Texas Rangers and their top-ranked ball park is the perfect place to enjoy a evening game or a Sunday afternoon of baseball. The best seats in the house are less than $15 and the next home stands are from May 7th-13th and May 21st-26th. See you there!
